A 20 to 30 minute drive from Olive Branch but definitely worth the drive. In the Desoto County's wide variety of Catfish and Southern-style family restaurants, Catfish Country just rose to my top 3, essentially due the the superior quality of the Food compared to the field. Possibly the best Hush Puppies around are brought to the table soon after seated, pippin hot. The Fish was perfectly fried, not mushy inside and not overdone. We ordered the fried Shrimp addition and were not disappointed. They were likely home made, tasting very fresh, not frozen, meaty and juicy, not the dried up popcorn Shrimp that are mostly dough. Excellent seasoning and breading on both Fish and Shrimp. Sides were above average, especially the twice baked potatoes. On our way to pay, I saw a large selection of beautiful pies and cakes which are home made according to the Cashier; too bad they are not displayed in the Restaurant, we may have indulged. The only ding I would have to report is that the service is almost too casual and a bit messy. The Restaurant is clearly a hit though and don't scare customers away; we came in at 5:45 and it was already packed! Maybe a bit more pricier than other similar Restaurants in this area, but I often say "you get what you pay for" and the quality of the Food was worth the price.

Service great. Food really good. I actually give the restaurant a 4.5. The only reason for the 1/2 point is that the chicken strips were cooked way too much. They were too crispy. Will go again.

On my last visit to Catfish Country I ordered a grilled catfish fillet. When it arrived to the table it tasted like liquid propane gas. I did not hesitate to return it to the kitchen. The carpet in the dining room smells moldy and greasy. I think this would be a nice place to eat if the owners would shut down for 2 weeks and do a thorough deep cleansing of the entire facility.

We love this place they have the best fish around. The service is great. We have never had to ask for more drink are anything. You get all the hush puppies you can eat.
